10 Days Left

Holy crap, you guys. Now I can count the number of days I have left in school with my fingers! Yikes!

In school news, I tried out for the senior solo for "Touch the Sky" from the movie Brave. I was one of seven people, since only seniors were allowed to audition and most seniors already tried for and received a different solo. So yeah. I may actually have a chance this time. It would be cool to get the solo for the mass number at the end of the concert.

I am getting as much help in math as I can, since I only have 10 days and I really want to get my grade in Algebra II from a C to a B- at least. It will look better on my record and help my GPA. (Plus I've never gotten lower than a B- on any report card in my life.)

Now for the nerdy stuff. Nothing new for Sonic quite yet...I'm keeping my eyes open, though. I've heard rumors that Shadow is going to be in the new TV series. I certainly hope so! He's my favorite character!

No new trailers or pics for the TMNT movie, but the new episode of the 2012 series aired on Sunday, titled "The Lonely Mutation of Baxter Stockman." And to quote the Black Nerd on YouTube, "Gee, I wonder what this episode is about?" It was really good, and SUPER funny. Holy cow. I almost choked on my popcorn at one point because I was laughing so hard.

I don't know if you all remember the Baxter Fly from the original 1987 show, but this version of him is a lot more realistic. And creepy.

On a side note, while looking for stuff about Ratchet and Clank on YT, I stumbled across Sly Cooper and his video games. He is also about to hit the big screen (in 2016). He seems like a modern Robin Hood...kinda.

Speaking of Robin Hood, I watched it last night for the first time in years. Now that I'm older I appreciate it a lot more. The love song in the middle doesn't seem so boring anymore. Haha :-)

Anyways, there you have it: nerdy update for today. See you all next time!

15 Days Left

Can you believe it? I only have 15 days of high school left! I'm almost done! I can hardly believe it myself!

The hard work is far from over, though. These last 15 days will be tough. I have final projects to finish up and turn in, as well as getting my senior checkout form filled out so that I can officially leave on May 21. Senior finals are handled differently than the other classes, since we leave a week and a half earlier than everyone else. The way things look, I'll only have two finals on my last day, which means I'll probably be out of there by noon.

...wow.

I hung up my mixed choir robe for the last time yesterday after coming home from Gillette's District Music Festival. It was a bittersweet moment. I will be wearing color for my very last concert on May 13...a day when many tears will be shed. Trust me.

This is what my lineup looks like from here on out:
May 1 - Meeting with my college adviser to start the process of setting up classes for this fall! Yikes!
May 13 - My last high school choir concert
May 20-21 - Senior finals
May 25 - Graduation

15 days, you guys...15 days...

OK. If I dwell on that too much I will start getting depressed and stuff, so I'm going to move on.

I have been looking for updates on Sonic Boom but haven't really found much. However I am getting a bunch of stuff on TMNT. First, the new movie is coming out in August, so more pictures and trailers are being released. Here's one that popped up on Google+ when I logged on today:

Are you thinking, what the crap? Because that's exactly what I said when I saw it. I was like, "They had better not mess up this movie. They had better do it right." I am still reserving judgement until August 8, however.

In addition to that, the new episode of the 2012 series came out on Sunday, titled "Mazes and Mutants," and, well...

...I think you get the idea. (So many Lord of the Rings references...it was awesome!)

One last thing: I'm sending a shout-out to my grandmom, who is having her book published soon! The cover came out today:

Cool, right? I'm so excited for her! It's really an awesome thing for a writer to see the cover of THEIR book for the first time! Go Grandmom! :D

Well, I think that's all she wrote for the day. Just figured I'd give you an update on my life and how busy its gotten...all of a sudden, it seems.

I won't think about it. Like Sonic says, "Just smile!"

TMNT 2014 Movie Trailer!

Well, folks, it's finally here! The first-ever official trailer for the new TMNT movie was released today! Check it out:

So what do you think? I wasn't expecting it to come out today, so when a friend of mine asked if I'd seen it, I practically attacked the computer trying to load it up so I could watch it. At first my mind didn't totally register that it was TMNT until I actually saw Leo land on top of the water tower. Then I was like "OMG!"

My overall impression? Surprisingly, this does not look as bad as I was expecting it to be! I didn't think I would be as excited for it as I am. Yes, it does look different and yes, it does appear that they changed the story around a bit. But at least they aren't aliens, and every version of the Turtles that has come out has been different in some respect. All in all, I look forward to seeing this in theaters and will reserve judgement until August 8.

Seriously, though, you've got to admit...Leo looks totally awesome! :D

Rob Paulsen and Elias Koteas: TMNT Legends

Happy 58th birthday to Rob Paulsen, a true TMNT legend! Paulsen currently voices TMNT 2012's Donatello and, in 1987, he was the voice of Raphael. Bonus: Rob Paulsen voiced Antoine in Sonic SatAM. He has voiced TONS of characters over the years...just take a look at his IMDB page and see for yourself!
Happy birthday, Rob Paulsen! :D

Don't forget Raphael!

Or Antoine!

Today is also Elias Koteas' 53rd birthday! Koteas played Casey Jones in the 1990's TMNT movies:

Happy birthday, guys! You're awesome!

Now to watch TMNT (and possibly Sonic SatAM) :D

Long Post: School Updates and TMNT Episode Overviews

Can anyone say "busy?" Good grief, it's been over a month since I updated this blog! :O

School has been nuts, and it's only going to get crazier. This month is already looking swamped for me. Between birthdays, schoolwork, NHS, and other activities, I'll be lucky to get much down time in the next two weeks. I have two NHS events going on this Wednesday and Saturday, then we have our festival concert on March 18th, Katie Sawyer's birthday on the 19th, Jazz Festival on the 20th (an all day event), and Luke's birthday on the 21st. (He'll be freaking 19 years old! Yikes!)

After that is a well-deserved Spring Break! :D

And then it's back to craziness. The Friday after break, April 4th, is my dad's birthday. Prom is April 5th. Then I'm taking an overnight trip to the University of Wyoming on April 6th and 7th. Just a week or so after that is District Music Festival (remember my post about Moorcroft last year?). Then, either shortly before or shortly after that, it's Solo and Ensemble Festival, in which I have a duet with my friend Rachel. We're singing Loch Lomond, a Scottish art song.

Think it's over yet? Nope! Because after that it's May! Talent show, senior checkout forms, senior finals, graduation...and then college! Holy crap!

I am going to be SWAMPED the next few months...but hopefully I'll get in some fun down time with the gang. Hopefully.

So now you kind of have an idea of what's going on in my life...if there aren't many blog posts in the future, refer back to this one to see why! Haha.

Anyway, in other news...TMNT 2012 has had several other episodes since I last posted. Here is a brief overview and some pictures:

S02E09: The Kraang Conspiracy
Does this picture give you an idea?

S02E10: Fungus Humoungus
Again, I think this picture will give you an idea.

S02E11: Metalhead Rewired
Metalhead is back, and smarter than ever! With an upgraded A.I. and some new gadgets, Donnie has transformed the little robot we all know and love into a machine not to be trifled with...until, of course, Metalhead is zapped by some funky Kraang tech...

S02E12: Of Rats and Men
The Rat King is back...as well as a new ally: Ice Cream Kitty (voiced by Kevin Eastman, one of the co-creators of TMNT)!

S02E13-14: The Manhattan Project
Contrary to popular belief, this episode is NOT called "Wormquake." It is called "The Manhattan Project."
There are SO many plot twisters and exciting things happening in this episode...(SPOILER ALERT - SKIP TO PAST PICTURE) to say that a new villain is introduced, Karai rescues Splinter, and the 80's Turtles are featured would only be scratching the surface!

So yeah! Lots of exciting things happening in the TMNT universe right now! I don't know when the next episodes will be out, but my guess is since they had a big haul in February followed by the hour-long special last week, we won't be seeing anything new for a while. They always do that to us. XD

Well, now that I have brought you mostly up-to-date on things, I think I'm out of here. I don't have much significant info concerning Sonic Boom, the TMNT movie, or Doctor Who. Sorry. See you next time! :-)

Sonic Boom TV Trailer! :D

I got home from school today and started checking for updates like I usually do, and GUESS WHAT I FOUND?! A brand new trailer for the new Sonic Boom TV series coming this fall!! Check it out!!

Here is a picture of the character redesigns:

So...different! But at least it's not as bad as the TMNT Reboot redesigns. As you can see, Sonic now has blue arms, Knuckles is taller and more buff, and Amy has a brand new look entirely (I approve!). Also, for whatever reason, they all have pad wraps on their arms and legs. And Sonic now has an ascot-type-thing. So far what I've seen is pretty cool! It will just take a bit to get used to the new coloring and outfits. I wonder if they'll use the Sonic Boom song for the theme? THAT WOULD BE COOL!!! :D

Well, there you have it! Brand new Sonic stuff! They say that the show, the game (based on the show), and new merchandise will be coming soon. You know what that means...more collecting! SONIC BOOM!! :D

TMNT: Casey goes vigilante...and Irma's first appearance! *Spoilers*

HOLY FLIP, you guys!! So I just watched the brand new episode of TMNT 2012...and it was AWESOME!! Casey Jones returns and officially becomes the vigliante we all know and love from previous shows and movies! There is so much to look forward to in this episode: Casey and Raph fight (BOOYAKASHA!), Casey finds out about the turtles, and...Foot Bots in the lair?! Go watch the episode and find out for yourself!

Another thing to note about this episode is the return and first appearance of Irma, April's BFF from the original 1987 series! From what I've seen so far she has sort of a different personality...more nerdy and in-your-face than before. It remains to be seen whether she will still be boy crazy like in the original show.

What do you think? Just based on her first impression, she kind of rubbed me the wrong way...but first impressions can be misleading. Especially in this show. We will just have to wait and see what she's like! (I'm still trying to find her voice actor...)

Well, that's all for now! Be sure to keep up with the series as it progresses. Brand new episodes on a brand new day! The Good, The Bad, and Casey Jones is available now! GOONGALA!! :D
